Roundhouse Wedding : Alex & Kim : Beacon, NY
Alex & Kim were married at The Roundhouse in Beacon, NY in August.
I tend to let weddings marinate a bit with the couple before I get around to posting them. So, it’s always great to get a chance to relive these events myself later on. This particular wedding at The Roundhouse this past summer was one that had a resounding undertone of fun throughout the day. It was an overcast August afternoon but the smiles and enthusiasm stood in for the sun. I was fortunate to be introduced to Alex & Kim by one of my former couples who later randomly became my across the street neighbor. Small world.
Oheka Castle Wedding : Gianna & Fritz : Huntington, NY
Gianna & Fritz were married at the historic Gold Coast mansion Oheka Castle on Long Island in Huntington, NY.
Getting ready on site at Oheka Castle, I photographed the last bit of Gianna’s getting ready with her mom and grandparents. There were some incredibly sweet moments between Gianna’s grandma and grandpa all day - what a delight to be able to capture for them. Going for an ultra classic look, we let the beauty of the space and natural radiance of the couple do all the talking. I noticed when pulling URL’s for the vendor list below that Reem Acra uses Oheka for their main promo materials at the moment. Seems that was a good choice.
A wedding at Oheka is really unlike any other in the NYC tri-state area. It suited this particular bride and groom perfectly as it exudes this elegant grandeur which Gianna & Fritz fit right in to. We were lucky to have the enveloping soft light for much of the day making it ideal for portraits throughout. Stealing the couple for just a few minutes during cocktail hour allowed us to capture a handful of extremely warm images of the two of them as the sun grazed the horizon line.

99 Scott Wedding : Supriya & Sameer : Brooklyn, NY
Supriya & Sameer were married in Greenpoint, Brooklyn hosting their wedding at 99 Scott in October.
I see a lot of photography of South Asian weddings that seems so melodramatic. I love bringing a more documentary approach so that we can get a sense of personality and let the rich colors and traditions speak for themselves. This wedding at 99 Scott was so full of life - what a joy to photograph.

Tribeca Rooftop Wedding : Jordan & Dan : New York, NY
A summer wedding at Tribeca Rooftop in New York City.
Everything about this day at Tribeca Rooftop was good vibes. I met up with Jordan at the Conrad New York Downtown for some getting ready photos before we met Dan at the Staple Street Skybridge for a first look and portraits. I love that The Conrad is generous in allowing us to use some common areas for a few photos. So many hotels have limitations on this.
At the venue, it was the perfect day for a rooftop ceremony and soon all of Jordan & Dan’s guests arrived for that quintessential Tribeca Rooftop experience surrounded by the Manhattan skyline.

River Cafe Wedding : Brooklyn, NY
Clara & Aaron were married at The River Cafe in Brooklyn, NY on the waterfront.
More and more, couples have been opting to bring me to the rehearsal dinner to capture the day-before festivities. I always love this as it gives me some time to get to know and document very close family and friends. The next day at the wedding, the jitters of being in front of the camera have all but dissipated.
Clara & Aaron held their rehearsal dinner at Hana Makgeolli in Greenpoint and took the opportunity to hold a Korean paebaek ceremony. This serves as the perfect ice breaker for the two sides of family to relax and get to know each other. Wearing traditional hanbok, they honored their parents and family before the fun hazing rituals of throwing chestnuts to determine how many kids they’d have and carrying the bride around the room on the groom’s back. Fun stuff.
The next day I started right at the first look outside 1Hotel Brooklyn Bridge. We meandered our way through Brooklyn Bridge Park taking photos before meeting up with family at The River Cafe. The weather decided to pull a fast one on us so we began with cocktail hour before the ceremony was underway. I kinda loved that - guests arrived leisurely and had a chance to grab a drink and mingle before heading to the garden for the vows. After that 30 minute break from refreshments everyone went inside for the reception. This somehow had a “modern” wedding vibe as the guests all saw Clara before the actual ceremony. Shockingly, no one turned into pumpkins.
